Hi folks, this is my first post here, so be gentle. ;) I have written a trend piece on the growing power of women. It's still being worked on tonight, but please give me your suggestions and comments. :)

Hey Michael,

I'm interested in your topic! But which angle you are taking? I know women who are professionally successful, who stay both physically and mentally strong, who can be self-fulfilled without relying on their husbands, etc.

Best,
Jennifer.

Hi Jennifer, the angle with this story is that women have made remarkable progress in all areas in society, save in TV commercials and Hollywood, where they are always portrayed as housekeepers. I'm on a crusade to rectify this issue.

Thanks for commenting, much appreciated. :)

Cheers,
Michael

"Women have made remarkable progress in all areas in society, save in TV commercials and Hollywood, where they are always portrayed as housekeepers."

Is this really true? I haven't been a frequent TV watcher lately, but "women are always portrayed as housekeepers" seems like an awfully sweeping statement ... and one for which I suspect there are a lot of counterexamples.

I'm referring to TV commercials, not programming. Virtually all commercials that have anything to do with household chores are stereotypically portrayed by women only.
