At The Plain Dealer/cleveland.com, we've put up a simple online game to commemorate last year's snowed-out Indians home opener. If anyone has a chance to try it, let me know what you think -- and if you run across any glitches.
We're going live with this later in the week, but the link's already active.
I really liked the game. It was interactive and easy, and not too demanding. I especially like the time-lapse video that was linked. I did not notice any glitches, though I only played it on easy.
Did you record your own sound for the flash game? How long did it take to make?
The basic audio tracks were a few bucks each at soundrangers.com. I added the vendor and "kill the ump" shouts on my own, using Audacity to fiddle with my voice's pitch, add some echo, and marry it all together.
The whole project took about two weeks, in between my regular job but with plenty of night and weekend hours thrown in. Part of that was because I'm learning Flash project by project, so I picked up several techniques as I went along.
Glad you liked the time-lapse. It was a big hit last year, and I wanted to use the game to get some of that long-tail traffic for it again.
You all at The Plain Dealer have some fun Flash graphics. I also like some of your Caspio Bridge graphics ... like, the 100 greatest Indians and white Christmas possibilities for each state.
