Probably a silly question because most people I know use Mac and Final Cut. I'm locked into Windows/Linux for now, and was wondering if anyone here used a specific program for video editing or if they have advice for what to get?

Thanks :)

We used Adobe Premiere before switching to Final Cut. I like it.

I have Adobe Premiere Elements 3.0 installed on my laptop. A year ago my external hard drive crashed when it was writing a file to it. Now, I use Windows Movie Maker. It is a little funky but I have found it to be rock solid. The enclosed video interview was edited with WMM and published Sunday:

BTW: I learned how to edit using Final Cut Pro.

Howdy! Some have argued that a Macbook is preferable over Windows or GNU/Linux. I've tried to respond to this on my blog at http://www.mguhlin.org/2008/12/video-journalists-toolkit-what-some.... . What are your thoughts since you originally posted this question in August, 2008?
