So I'm trying to come up with ideas for this year's election site, and wonderedif any of you had favorite election web sites, what functions/projects you've liked in an election site, etc. For example, on of the things I liked from this year's coverage is the NY Times' campaign finances mashup (http://politics.nytimes.com/election-guide/2008) that shows where the most donations came from.

Each candidate was assigned a back-end value and values were assigned to candidate statements on different topics. Viewers could determine which candidate they agreed with the most after the script calculated which value was selected the most often.
I've also seen it done very well using Flash. This is the Vote-O-Matic from an Australian Web site.
We just got a PA Primary site up last week, a collaboration of the Philadelhpia Daily News and the Philadelphia Inquirer. Has some of the features mentioned and maybe a couple different ones...
