Susan,

You should definitely add to it. Another publication would be unhappy if they paid for a piece and then found what was essentially the same article on an association's web site.

I started a group for the American Society of Business Publication Editors on GoodReads so we can share recommendations on books related to our field -- writing/journalism, design, web, business, etc. We can discuss that here, too, but the GoodReads group has a database of books, lets you link to book info, etc.

I've just completed a profile piece for a non-profit for use on their website and other materials. I'd like to turn the piece into an article I can submit. I wasn't paid I was just trying to get into writing again. Would you guys reccommend pitching it to a health/non profit trade publication if other sources are added or keep it as a profile piece.

Thanks again for any advice

I'd thought since i just joined the group i'd introduce myself. I graduated with a degree in journalism. I worked for five years at a bilingual newspaper that published three times a week where I was an education editor. When I was layed off I joined the retail world where I now enjoy my work as a kitchen and bath designer. I'm exploring how to incorporate both skills and passions.
