With newspaper jobs dwindling I have been thinking long and hard about what to do after I graduate this summer. In a perfect world I would work as a freelancer and write features and continue to explore multimedia but things are tough and I am not sure if I can support myself as a freelancer. In my exploration of journalism jobs I came across these:

Haitians Protest for TPS

In front of the Broward Tranistional Center in Pompano Beach close to 1000 Haitians and supporters came together to unite their voices and urge President Barack Obama to grant them temporary protection status.

As of Feb. 9 of this year there are an estimated 600 Haitians held in the detention center and over 30,000 awaiting deportation.
