Hi Bess. We have one programming intern right now, and after that it's anybody's guess. We have just three interns this summer, compared with at least 10 last year. Things are looking pretty grim in the financials, so I'd be surprised if that changes for next summer or before. I imagine decisions about that will be made in october or november when they start drawing up year's budget. If I hear anything more, I'll let you know.

Things are getting better...lol...I'm actually not on the copy desk anymore, I'm back on news desk. We lost like 4 reporters last month due to retirement, people moving, and promotions. So it's been a little crazy. We also have a couple of intern positions available, if you wanna spread to word to your fellow students.

Grafiti background is in the customize option, it's something like sorority (I know, not exactly how I wanted to define myself, but it looks cool) hehe. I gotta go to work today, I may or may not get to class tonight, my mouth is swelling up and 9-7 is a really really long day. We'll see!

Okay, will do. Thanks again for all your hard work on MJR. I'm really excited about Harry Bliss. Did you get the copy of what I sent to Carol today? Is that too late?

Nice to meet you. I see you're going to be a Dow Jones intern. That will be nothing but helpful, and getting to work for such a big paper will be a major boon. Where is your boot camp?

The Patriot Ledger is a midsize paper about 20 minutes south of the city that covers most of the southeastern coast. I loved working there and they have an exploding web department right now. Also look into boston.com, I think they have a ton of internships up for grabs on a fairly regular basis.

Thanks for the internship tip, I just e-mailed the statesman guy in charge of them. I can't say enough good things about Boston, I absolutely love living in this city and will be sad to go. The Herald is in a pretty sad state right now and seems to be on its way under. I think its staff is down to 8 people right now and I don't know much about their web staff but it would be worth looking into.

I am extremely interested in the Statesman, my plan was to start harrassing them reasonably soon to get them used to my name, if you wouldn't mind either passing along contact info for your friend or giving him mine (eleni.himaras@gmail.com) I would be extremely grateful! Also if you are looking for advice with anything in looking over here in Boston I'd be happy to help, especially if you are interested in The Patriot Ledger, where I've worked throughout college.
