I live for the brouhaha.

Being the constant butt of jokes/criticism from the council has its perks.

Namely the brouhaha.

Yes. I am slogging along on two interactive projects. One involves an auto repair sham and the other is the legacy of a civil rights leader here in Kankakee. They should be pretty good when they are completed, but they've taken so long the only person excited about them any more is the designer. I hope that will change when they're finished and people see what we're capable of doing.
Gathering all the pieces takes time.
Each video clip in an appointment between me, the source, the part-time videographer we have and the photo studio. I also need microphones to put together the audio clips for the scam story because the victims all live more than an hour away, and interviews are over the telephone. Then, of course, you need a mugshot to accompany the audio clip.
Getting clean copies of documents to scan as pop-ups has taken a lot of time and required the same source work it has for for print. Skittish sources have made it harder, but I think we'll come through.
Each step has required more than one newsroom person, so a lot of the work requires motivation/coordination/time for each person, which is a lot to ask sometimes.
It would be much, much easier to just crank out print copy and move along, but that's really not the point, is it?
