I currently work for Liberty Suburban Publications (Gatehouse Media) and am covering the search for Stacy Peterson full-time. Before that I covered St. Charles and West Chicago, two western suburbs of Chicago. The switch to covering the Peterson case plunged me head first into the world of online media, multimedia and blogging, none of which I was particularly familiar with beforehand. That being said I've learned a lot and occasionally find myself cruising dozens of blogs into the wee hours of the morning trying to get ideas. I think it's safe to say I'm getting a little addicted to it.
I came to Chicago from Madison, Wis. where I graduated from UW-Madsion with degrees in journalism and philosophy after 2.5 confusing years as a genetics major. While in college I co-founded and edited The Madison Observer, an independent student publication, and then went on to an internship with the Wisconsin State Journal.
I was hired by the Journal following my internship and worked as a nighttime GA reporter for a year before moving to Chicago.
Another great story, Danya. His windows? On eBay?! Tomorrow you could probably tell me that Peterson woke up today with his head stapled to the carpet and I wouldn't be surprised. Nothing about this surprises me anymore.
