Just as I mention that it doesn't look like we're going to get Flash, I find out that we are going to at least experiment with it! About six years ago, I was teaching myself how to use Flash by following lynda.com's HOT book on Flash. Great tutorials. Not entirely comprensive, but far better than the software manual. I look forward to learning how it's changed and all the new fun stuff.
So am I reading this correctly: You actually write the coding for some of your graphics in JavaScript and Ajax?! That is insane. :) I know how to manipulate a bit of coding, following by example. I have a book on learning CSS, which seems integral to Flash. It was six years ago. So much has changed.
It's great to see others experimenting with google maps and other online interactive software. Leading the way into the future!
Last night, I noticed you are a member of the Wordpress group here and I seem to recall you are quite active on VizEds old forums. I like your blog entry on using Flash for bar charts. Do you all use Flash a lot for online graphics? We haven't at all, and it appears as though we won't be using it in the future.
Anyway, just now I was reading Google's LatLong blog and saw this post about people using GoogleMaps, with a link, I believe, to your flood map.

We haven't used Google maps for our own website. I believe we should in cases such as your flood map.
A fun, two-day exploration and coincidence.

How are you?
So, what are you up to?
