Jessica, after I left my post last night saying "you should join," I thought ... wait, isn't she already a member ... so I looked for you and couldn't find you ... now randomly going through the members roster, I find you ...
Again, great post. Don't let the ninnies get you down.
HI Jessica,
I saw today's blog post as well ... and how it brought out the crazies, the cowards and the morons. I'm sorry that you had to go through that.
However, I am quite sure that this entire episode has made you a better journalist.
I, for one, would hire you in a minute. And I would recommend you to any of my clients.
Hang in there.
Paul
Jessica,
I loved your blog post about the reorg at the Tampa Trib. I wrote something about it on my own blog:

Many of my friends have fled our hometown for the D.C. area. I'm also a politics junky. So naturally I'm obsessed with D.C. news; Express, Hotline, WaPo, Roll Call, Wonkette. And that doesn't even include the gems like Capitolist. haha.
Anyway, you should check out the Groups area. You'll probably find a few groups you'll enjoy.

This summer I am interning at The Tampa Tribune, where I'm reporting for the metro desk. It's mostly a general assignment position, though judging by the stories I've been reporting, my beat could be called "politics and building maintenance." Also during my time here, I'll get to intern with the multimedia desk where I can learn to hone some of those skills that I've picked up.
I'm also a higher education blogger for The Campus Word, a community of blogs by college students across the world. It was formerly a Web publication featuring opinionated columns from most of the bloggers.
In spring, I served as a features intern at Roll Call Newspaper in Washington, D.C., where I wrote about events with a political angle going on around Capitol Hill and assisted staff reporters with research for their stories. I also took 12 credits at Georgetown University that focused on different areas of political science.
From May to December, I was the university editor at The Independent Florida Alligator where I managed four reporters who covered the goings on of the University of Florida. As the former student government writer and UF administration writer, I served as the go-to gal for institutional knowledge about UF's happenings over the past few years.
I have a personal blog about everything I'm learning about journalism through practice and my personal view on the industry of journalism.
Eventually I want to break into the world of political journalism and utilize the Internet to spread stories and information using more than just print. In a perfect world, I would be a White House blogger for The Washington Post or USA Today. In addition to journalism, I have a second major in political science.
