Convergence 2.0 Survey

A colleague (Susan Keith, Rutgers) and I have an online national survey newly in the field. It's been sent primarily to news directors at U.S. TV stations in the top 100 markets and managing editors/dme's/ame's at U.S. newspapers with a minimum circulation of 25,000. Some of you, I expect, were on the targeted mailing list. For those who were, I urge you to join those who have already responded if you haven't already. For those who weren't, if you wouldn't mind encouraging those who probably did… Continue

Thanks! I joined on Bill's recommendation. I'm guessing you turned him onto this. Nice to be in touch. This looks like fun.

Hello Leslie! Wow, I just signed on to this network, like, 3 minutes ago. You're my first WF friend. Hope all is well with you.

What's the best use of this network, do you think?

HI Leslie,
We are off and running. Lot's of stuff to do. Have accreditation folks visiting early in the week, at the same that we are moving quickly to cover Super Tuesday. We have a new $500K converged newsroom to break in. We will be hosting the third and final presidential debate next year so that is a big target for us to work to. Our local election coverage will be live-blogged on nassaunews.org/news (hyperlocal) and on chronicle08.blogspot.com. My students will be going out and grabbing vox pop video interviews and we will have a national desk covering the primary results. And, we will be live streaming at the same time.
After that, we should settle down to the rhythms of a regular semester.
I'll e-mail you my syllabi. And, while we are only two hours or so from Danbury, it is a world away. Still cold here, but that's not something you have to worry about in Arizona, right? :-)
Arnold Miller is right down the road at Newsday. Hoping to reach out to him and get him to come talk to the class.

Hi, thanks for adding me. Getting ready for the curtain raiser for Spring 2008 tomorrow. Teaching photojournalism and two sections of online journalism and getting involved in a little bit of everything else. Hope all goes well in the semester.
