I am web development editor (formerly art director) for The Post-Standard. I have been a graphic artist, designer, and illustrator since 1995. Despite my title, I am a neophyte in the world of multimedia and interactive development and production. I am literally a student of New Media, earning a master's degree at the Newhouse School, Syracuse University. I am interested in developing and deploying strategies and tools that help traditional newsrooms enter the digital frontier.

I'm trying to get in touch with the guys from Burlington and Albany who visited with you during the web seminar you did up here ... and I've misplaced their names. Any direction would help.
I'm researching web-to-print calendar systems and am able to find very little online. I know that Albany and Burlington have systems. Have you come across any resources or reviews on this?
Mike...The whole presentation at Plattsburgh State was very good. I wrote down a number of ideas to work on here. We are just starting to get into video, so we need to build some skills and get some inspiration, both of which you have helped with.

Mike, again I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed your presentation. But I already had one of my students -- I'm teaching my first newspaper design class -- ask me "If everything is moving to the Web do I really need to know this pica, headline sizing stuff.
Anyways, I've posted a question on the social network group, and wanted to run it past you also. Any recommendations for newspaper-created social networks I could look at, and show to others, in a lobbying effort to do something here? Thanks.
