I'm an assistant professor of journalism at San Francisco State University, where I advise Golden Gate [X]press student publications. I write, mostly about health, for magazines and Web sites, including U.S. News & World Report, Natural Health, Time, Prevention, Alternative Medicine. My book about college newspapers, The Student Newspaper Survival Guide, was published by Blackwell (now Wiley) in 2006. I also write a companion blog called The Student Newspaper Survival Blog.
