I'm a copy editor/page designer and have been in the newspaper business for more than 34 years. I've been an editiorial assistant, TV book editor, features reporter, food editor, book editor, page designer and copy editor. I worked for Gannett at the Democrat & Chronicle in Rochester for 25 years. For a few months during that time I was loaned to USA Today. In 1999, I moved back home to North Carolina to work for the News & Record. A childhood dream come true. A lot has changed in the newsroom over the years, obviously, but I've tried to keep up with the technology. I'm new to blogging, so any suggestions would be welcome.
Welcome to the site, Romy. I'm hoping we can really get some good stuff out of it. Now, what is the deal with that photo of you at the White House podium?

It's always good to meet fellow Fisher alum. It's a great school, for sure!
I interned with the Democrat and Chronicle for a semester on the copy desk. I must admit, though, I enjoy reporting much more than editing!
Good to hear from you,
Jessica
I added choices for Copy Editor and Production to the "day job" list.
Welcome!
