Could you use a little help unraveling the mystery of Google AdWords? Are you looking for new ways to drive traffic to your site? Did the boss just put you in charge of something called "online marketing?" Me too.
I was one of 52 newsroom employees who took a buyout offer from The Oregonian in Portland. In November 2008, I left behind a 20-year career at the paper to conduct "mad scientist" experiments in online journalism. Past papers include The Kansas City Star, the Hartford Courant and three American City Business Journals (Kansas City, San Francisco and Portland). I've been a reporter, editor, publisher and PR flack (worst job ever). In my spare time, I blog, vlog, comment, bookmark, tweet, post, friend, update, upload, join, rate, add and ning. I suppose I'm a wired journalist, but I'd rather be unwired. No limits, dude.

Welcome! Glad to see Friesen bringing in more talented folks from sunny Portland.
