Is there anyone out there who covers health and medicine and has made any inroads into building an online community of any sort, tied to the beat? If so, I'd love to hear from you and pick your brain.

The Newark Star-Ledger's Pharmalot.com might not exactly be what you're after, as it's more like a blog covering the pharmaceutical industry, but blogger Ed Silverman is part of the beatblogging.org project.
