The N&R has just posted two multimedia presentations that I had a hand in, and I would welcome feedback on them.
Unfortunately, they don't have permalinks. To get to them, go to
our home page, scroll down the center column (under the "Latest Headlines" box) and look for the box tagged "Multimedia." Within that box, scroll down to:
-- "Going through Wii-hab", and:
-- "Dummy helps train nurses."
Although I've had a modicum of training in audio and video recording and editing, one of our producers, Ashley Hawkes, did the heavy lifting on this. I just provided the voiceover (and for once I wish I'd gone ahead and done a second take; there are a couple of hiccupy things in there).
We didn't storyboard this in advance. Ashley simply showed up when I did, shot what she thought would work, and then later recorded my voiceovers and then married it all up. The text for the voiceover came from the print articles that I did.
One note of frustration: The articles ran in late February in the print edition. Our interactive staff is so swamped that this is the earliest they could get the presentations produced and posted. That's not a criticism of Ashley; that's just the way things are.
Again, I welcome constructive feedback.
