Looking for editor-reporters for local Web site
We're launching three local news web sites in New Jersey, just across the river from Manhattan, in the upscale commuter towns of Maplewood, South Orange and Millburn (20,000 pop. each). Web only, decent full-time pay and benefits. One editor per site, plus a hefty freelance budget, a shared ad sales manager, and a supervising editor who'll work with all of the sites to help out as needed. These are our alpha tests to shape up the plan and the software, with several dozen more set for next year, nationwide. Serious news, plus multimedia, and lots of info listings as well. This is a great chance to do it all, with a fair amount of independence. We're very serious about building a major league online local news company. As an aging ink-stained wretch, a year ago I would have grumbled at your announcement: "another cheap-o Web ripoff helping kill newspapers ..."
Now I say: "Somebody wants to back a journalism venture! May riches fall from the skies upon you!"

- Interesting! What's your business model (since that's the weak point of all journalism these days)? Advertising supported, I suppose; if so, what kind of ads?
