I am also a J-student in an ever changing journalistic world. I'm interested in learning more about social networking and how it plays a role in journalism, and talk to other journalists as we go through this industry shift.

I'm a J-student and am extremely interested in the power of Internet journalism and idea sharing. I'm joining all the social media sites I can, and this one looked quality. I like it because it's low maintenance, but you can always expect to hear great feedback on your ideas from pros. I'm a fan, but I do agree with the above posts about getting some more interactivity.

I thought this place combined the awesomeness of Wired Magazine with journalism. Alas this was not a Wired initiative, but I stuck around anyway.

I joined because I saw that Ryan was behind it and because I was hoping it would be a resource for ideas, tips, tools, networking, brainstorming...
I've gone through periods where I've not visited the site and kind only really started to visit again recently. I do wish there was more participation and given and take in some of the "discussions." It seems like I am currently getting more out of Twitter. I would like for this site to lead to more connections. Maybe regional meet-ups. Something to better facilitate the exchange of ideas. Because as we all know our industry really needs good ideas and concrete ways that they can be implemented.

I joined because my old boss (John Taylor) told me I should. It was good advice.
I just like the site because it gives me a place to blog about journalism — a place I don't have to spend time promoting on my own and a place where I can usually count on hearing back from someone to help shape my ideas better.
