We are having trouble getting our WordPress blog stats plugin to work properly. Is anyone else having success/problems with that plugin?

There are a *lot* of WP plugins for stats... What's this one called?

Well, I can see your comment, Ryan. It's called WordPress.com stats.

Are you using an address like blog.wordpress.com or is it self-hosted? If the latter, then you can just sign up for Google Analytics, which is working great for me.

Good suggestions. Thanks.

For tracking visitors and their locations, source of their visit, how they navigate through the blog, etc. then, as it's already said, Google Analytics is the way to go. It's really easy to implement: just sign up for an Analytics account, activate the Ultimate Google Analytics plugin for WP and configure it. The plugin will take care of putting the code on every page and post and track navigation accordingly. If you need help with setting up this plugin, just ask again.

I would recommend signing up for a Feedburner account as well, for tracking feed usage. Again, a neat plugin will do all the hard work.

This is also a service from Google, and I'm getting more and more uncomfortable about 3rd party services like this, on issues like privacy, data protection and such. But really there aren't a lot of alternatives.

Hope this helps!

I'll see if our corporate guys (Howard? Ryan? Bryan? Nick? - I think there all on here) will approve us getting the Google analytics plug in installed on our blogs. Thanks for the tips.
