Wired Journalists

Get wired to win.

Computerworld is seeking a freelancer to work 5-10 hours/week moderating user comments in various areas of our site (moderation is light, we're just looking for posts that could be libelous, abusive or profane), checking user blog posts and selecting the best ones to highlight, and putting together a couple of e-mail newsletters promoting our best blogs and other user-generated content.

One of our editors is out on a long-term assignment, this would be for at least a month but could end up longer term if things work out well. Ideal candidate would be Web savvy and also knowledgeable about technology.

have you found anyone to take this on yet? I have experience as a technology/Internet reporter as well as a board moderator for AOL, doing the same type monitoring. 5-10 hours a week sounds perfect for me at right now. Thanks. Frances.

Thank you for responding. I checked with the editor who is overseeing this, she says she's on the verge of offering this to someone. However, if that doesn't work out, will let you know. If it does, I'll close this discussion.

We may have other freelance work available, though, so if you'd like to send me a private message with your resume, I'd be glad to forward it along to other editors doing assignments for them to keep on file as other things might crop up.
