Wired Journalists

Get wired to win.

I've just started using twitter in the past few weeks, and I'm loving it. I find it a really neat way to lead people to my blog and drive up traffic -- and to micro blog. For example, I blogged about my camping trip in the rain in real time by using twitter ... We're cooking over the campfire in the rain ... Now we're sitting at the pool in the rain. My blog is about parenting, but I include a lot of person stuff, so that works well.

But I'm curious: How are other people using twitter as part of their work? I'd love some ideas.

Check out Twitterfeed — you have to sign up and create an OpenID (if you don't already have one) but it's worth it. Once you're hooked up, Twitterfeed sends out a Tweet every time you update your blog.

You can set up as many feeds through Twitterfeed as you want (as far as I know). Maybe you can link to friends' blogs or just blogs that are related?

I use it for just the opposite of Paul's use - I post directly to Twitter and use it to distribute to my other services like Facebook, my blog, and Friendfeed.

Well, i use it for notifying when a new blog post is out; for social reasons - i get in touch with some people mainly through Twitter; to share links of articles i read and find interesting; to ask for help if i need some. i also use it for live comment- on sports, news, etc. Professionally, i use Twitter as an informal contact network, where i meet new people with similar interests and then add them in other social networks, just like facebook or linkedin.
And also for short ranting, philosophical outbursts, and the shady joke now and then. But the main part is to start a dialogue, even if it doesn't go as far from the first sentence, because it's about sharing a thought, a moment. How we use that is up to us, and how far it will go it depends on the rest of our contacts.
