Wired Journalists

Get wired to win.

Andrew Zahler

What's on your dream mac?

My supervisor has money budgeted for hardware and software. I'm trying to figure out what else, if anything, I need to become a super-outfitted multimedia producer.

I use a MacBook Pro, and I work in audio and still photos as well as video. I also do a little coding.

Here's a list of what I'm running beyond the typical iLife apps. I'd appreciate any suggestions on what you think is missing or could be improved:

Video:
• Final Cut Express
• Visual Hub
• Handbrake
• Mac the Ripper

Photos:
• Photoshop

Audio:
• Audacity

Text editors:
• TacoHTML
• Text Wrangler

PDF
• PDF Lab

Thank you!

A great list. For audio, you might want to take a look at Amadeus Pro. I bought it when Audacity crashed once too often on me and find it more robust and with a slightly better feature set.
