- I started out as a reporter and have done a little of everything as a journalist, including being an editor of a weekly (I essentially was its news department). For the most part, I've been a fan of the vintage style of newspapers (think 1905s-era New York Times) but realize that newspapers/news organizations must evolve to survive, and that I also need to evolve if I'm to survive in this industry.
