About Me:
I've moved back to my native New Zealand and am re-establishing myself in my old home town. I blog about digital journalism and newsroom integration issues, make myself available for advice and management roles on digital media projects, and am going to be teaching and mentoring journalism students this year. I was previously a chief change agent for the Telegraph integrated multimedia newsroom project in London.

Hi Julie,

just created a group on WJ for journalists in New Zealand: http://wiredjournalists.com/group/kiwijournalists and thought you might be interested in joining.

Looking forward to seeing some interesting discussions there. :)

Cheers,

Vera.

Hi Alex,
Sorry, been away for a while. To be honest, I've not long returned to NZ myself and would only be googling for writing courses anyway, which you can easily do yourself. I will be seeing some people at the Auckland University of Technology School of Communications this week, though, so will ask around. Meantime, do you blog?

Actually, I am just looking to get any sort of experience I can.
It does not matter if it is university or not- in fact non-university may be significantly cheaper so that would be better perhaps.
Right now I have a very broad range of interests, but opinion, features, news, and sports (though American) have all peaked my interests at one point or another. I am also very much into the creative design aspects of the paper and content/image mngmnt.
I love meeting different sorts of people, and I think this will be a big strength for me in the future, so again, any writing experience I can have down there will be a big positive.

Hi Julie,
I'm from Chicago, but this summer I am going to Austraila and then New Zealand for a few months, and I hope to take a few writing work shops while I'm there. i'm considering taking a year of finishing school overseas, and I hear that NZ is a very popular place for Americans because of the minimal cultural differences.Do you have advice as to where to begin looking for workshops, or any decent media reccomendations?
