Advantages: Good sound quality when using it as a handheld or for interviewing one person across a table. The controls are simple once you get used to them. Cheaper, at least in the US, than the alternatives. Comes with a screw-in handle and other accessories.
Disadvantages: Noticeable dropoff in sensitivity along the sides, so recording several people around a table produces voices at very different sound levels. Has given us some problems with phone interviews -- the Zoom seems to exaggerate the differences in volume between you and the person you're talking to. Battery life is short -- two or three hours of use.
Overall, we're happy with them. They're light, easy to use and provide good enough sound quality for online use.
I bought a H2 and took it back the next day as I use an external mic. they didnt play nicely together and gave me very low audio levels and alot of hiss.
I upgraded to the eridol r09hr which is realy realy nice. A bit more money but worth the difference.
