Hello again, Wired Journalists. I haven't been as active as I should be on this and other social networking sites for the past couple months, so I hope you'll indulge me just a bit. Back in January and February, I posted a couple times about the commitment I have made to become more wired in 2008, inspired by a post by Howard Owens. Well, I'm getting there. My biggest accomplishment so far is this: www.jenniferthornberry.com Yes… Continue

I recently attended a Society of Professional Journalists event on social networking sites and how they can be used in reporting. The event was in Louisville, Ky., my hometown. I work in Winchester, Ky., about 90 miles away. I had to drive back to Lexington, where I live, that night after the event. That was a total distance of 170 miles. Oh, and it rained on the way back. The glitzy magazine world just didn't satisfy me like I thought it would, and I missed the smell of newspaper ink and the pressure of meeting a deadline. So, I went back into the trenches.
However, since then, I've seen the state of the print industry. I d… Continue

Before becoming an ME, I was a news editor and copy editor/designer so I'm always glad to meet others in the field. Glad to see you are working hard to transition to multimedia.

Thanks for the welcome. This is a great site. I have already joined five groups and am interested in seeing what they do.
I've seen a few copy editors here so far. Maybe we should start a group for Editing Breaking News?
Where should we start?
