I live in Memphis, Tenn. I've done a bunch of jobs around newsrooms, mostly as assigning editor on metro, then business, then features. I'm interested in catching up on technology. After getting a degree in interactive services back in the dark ages -- 1987 -- from Indiana U. there weren't what I could see as any "real jobs" to be had, so I went to work as a reporter then editor, copy editor. Now, of course, I'm eager to get on board. This venture seems like a perfect blueprint to follow. Hope to get a photo posted directly and join in the discussions and assignments.
Basically, it's a way to get us prepared for the future of the industry. With online cutting into circulation and revenue how we do what we do is about to change drastically. If we want news jobs we need to get on the train.

I saw this and thought I'd see what it was all about.
So, what IS it all about?
